Specifications and Care
Our terracotta pots are designed to be enjoyed all year round, however there are some steps you can take to ensure longevity of your Italian Terracotta.
Winter Terracotta Care
If harsh frosts appear suddenly during winter, we recommend wrapping your pots in bubble wrap, or blankets to help insulate both the pot and the plant within.
Adequate Drainage
If your pot is to be used outside, proper drainage is essential to your pot and plant health. Our pot does come with drainage holes already, however we do recommend pot feet to help lift your pot off the ground to ensure proper drainage.
Planting Care
To ensure your plant has the best chance for optimum health, we recommend using gravel stones at the bottom of the pot to help ensure the drainage hole doesn’t clog and prevent drainage. You can also use broken terracotta for this should you have any lying around.
Pot Placement
Don’t sit your pot on bare earth. As Terracotta is a porus material, it can soak up excess moisture which can compromise the integrity of the pot if left long-term. Instead, use pot feet to help elevate the pot.
Please note our Sorrento Citrus terracotta pots are handmade, so sizes may vary slightly.
