Design Features

The Palermo’s softly rounded form, warm sun-baked tones, and gently weathered patina finished gives this jar a beautiful, aged look that is authentic to the Italian oricio design. It features the signature centred decorative rosette and two handles You can leave the jar unplanted, or plant with Mediterranean rambling florals or tumbling Rosemary that spill from the heavy rolled rim. Kiln fired for frost proofing.

Materials

Our Italian terracotta pots are handmade using the finest clays. The Palermo Oricio uses Galestro clay, rich in minerals and offering a balance of porosity that allows your plants to really thrive in the pot's environment. Its porous structure allows air and moisture to pass through, protecting plants in very hot and cold weather conditions, designed to withstand seasonal changes while ageing beautifully in your garden. Every piece is one of a kind, celebrating the craftsmanship and tradition behind each pot. A true investment for timeless garden design.

Designed for year-round outdoor use, the Palermo Terracotta Pot will develop a beautiful natural patina over time, enhancing its rustic charm. To maintain its condition, we recommend using pot feet to improve drainage and prevent moisture absorption. In colder months, insulating the pot with horticultural fleece can provide extra protection against frost. Before planting, add a layer of gravel or broken terracotta at the base to support drainage and encourage healthy root growth. As terracotta is naturally porous, avoid placing the pot directly on bare soil to prevent waterlogging.
